Artist Interview: Rene Helene

We had the pleasure of interviewing Rene Helene!

Rene is an artist whose music blends raw emotion with unforgettable melodies.

With exciting new music on the horizon this fall/winter, Rene is carving out her space in today’s music scene—and we couldn’t wait to hear more about her creative journey.

1. What sparks your creativity?
I write to process my feelings. I’m a pretty emotional person, and songwriting is the way I can sort through everything productively. It’s my outlet—where I can take those huge emotions and turn them into something meaningful.

2. Can you walk us through your creative thought process?
It really depends on the moment. Sometimes I’ll hear a song and start singing a new melody over it, then build new chords underneath. Other times I’ll begin with a chord progression and see where the melody takes me. I’ve also found I work really well under pressure—some of my best songs have come after three hours of sleep and a thirty-minute deadline. That kind of urgency gets me out of my head and forces me to trust the music.

3. What’s your favorite piece you’ve created and why is it significant to you?
Right now it’s a new song I’m working on that’s coming out this fall/winter. It pushes me vocally in ways I haven’t explored before, and the production is just insane—I’m really proud of how bold it feels.

4. How do you balance artistic expression with commercial viability?
Honestly, I just love a good melody. I try to write songs that are sticky—melodies that stay in your head. If that also makes them commercially viable, that’s a bonus. But I never chase trends; I follow what feels natural and memorable to me.

5. What advice would you give to emerging artists in your field?
Write what you feel, and write what you’d actually want to listen to. If you stay true to yourself, the music will resonate with others too.

That’s a wrap on our interview with Rene Helene! We had such a great time, and we hope you did too. Keep following along for updates on her music—you’ll want this new song on your playlist the second it drops.
